Saturday, September 22, 6 p.m.:
Charity concert in favor of children and young people with CF of the Balearic Islands, by the Secondary and Youth Choirs of San José Obrero School, at the Parish of San Sebastián (Palma).
Agora Portals International School, which celebrates his 10th anniversary, receives the Rose of the Sea Award 2018 for his collaboration in the awareness of society towards Cystic Fibrosis, by supporting events such as 12-hour swimming, solidarity concerts or social events. Likewise, he has also collaborated in the dissemination of this disease among the students of the center through the training activity of the “Respiralio and the Big Blue Bear” storyteller. The principal, Rafael Barea, received this prize. We publicly thank Agora Portals for the work of teaching values to the youngest and their collaboration in the struggle and knowledge of Cystic Fibrosis.
A hundred people could enjoy the event, held on Saturday, November 24, which featured a tasting menu offered by Chef Carlos Sánchez from Son Muntaner Golf Restaurant, the ambient music of our DJ Alba Serrano and the performance of the Uruguayan singer Adriana Santana. The event, in which the Rosa del Mar Award was delivered to Agora Portals, closed with an auction and raffle of interesting articles. Thanks to everyone who made this possible.The week of November 19 to 24 was the European Cystic Fibrosis Week. The European Society calls for greater visibility of the disease and the Cystic Fibrosis Spanish Federation and its association-members join to this claim and, in addition, we claim the drug #OrkambiYA.
In this regard, from the Balearic Collective of FQ we read a communiqué at the Rose of the Sea Fiesta, and the local televisions (IB3 and channel4) and the media echoed our demands.
One more year the #Midesonrisas campaign of Eroski for different children’s associations. (#AssociacionsInfantils). You can collaborate buying a calendar-rule for € 1.00, making a photo with it and uploading it to social networks with the hashtag #midesonrisas.
The CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) project, subsidized by the Consell de Mallorca aims to boost the CSR of the companies in Mallorca through charity outreach actions of Cystic Fibrosis with the help of corporate volunteering.We have already started and the first volunteers of Hotelbeds have already received training on the storytelling “Respiralio and the Big Blue Bear”, which explains the symptoms and treatment of Cystic Fibrosis in a fun way, and on the respiratory system and its relationship with this disease. Now it’s time to put it into practice in different schools to make the disease known to the youngest.
