After heavy rains on Saturday, Sunday dawned with bright sunshine to welcome the 8th edition of the Solidarity kilometers against Cystic Fibrosis. 409 participants decided to join another year in our annual appointment with the most solidary athleticism.
Our race was in our usual circuit of 5 km in front of the Parque del Mar, where Palma City Council had organized the 2016 Fit Salut Palma, with the Cathedral brightening the view of the participants.
In this solidary race everyone runs, walk or rollerblades the desired distance, facilitating the participation of any person regardless of age or physical condition. Thus, each of these participants contribute with their solidarity kilometers to roam our children with Cystic Fibrosis in its daily program of re-education effort in its challenge of a virtual trip around the world.
In addition, the ability to run a team gives us the opportunity to reward the biggest team. This year the team of the Residents Association of Son Dameto, with 42 members, received the award sponsored by Reus Esports.
At 12 am the emotional race of children started, which was held on a circuit of 200 meters that had 4 laps.
Thanks to the collaboration of Ayuntamiento de Palma (IME), Consell de Mallorca, Coca Cola, Linde Healthcare, Fundación Canyplant, Nutrisport, Eroski, Reus Esports, SSG Ambulancias, Boutique Gym and un grupo de voluntarios excepcionales, the event was held in a festive day and a great atmosphere.
