About 180 people walked in the 6th Walk and breathe beside Mollie-Ann, a young woman with Cystic Fibrosis Ciudadela (Menorca)
Under the slogan #caminayrespira the 6th edition of the Solidary Walk against Cystic Fibrosis brought together 180 people who joined this charity event and traveled six kilometers through the streets of Ciudadela. The event, organized for 6 years in a row by the Borràs sisters, raised awareness of Minorcan society about this disease and raised funds to improve the quality of life of children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis in Menorca.
The Mayor of Ciudadela, Mrs. Joana Gomila, was the person in charge of giving out the walk, next to the President of the Respiralia Foundation, Teresa Llull. Gràcia Mercadal and Joan Salord, both councils at the Town Hall, also participated in the event.
At the end of the tour there was a draw thanks to the contributions of Viatges Magon, Menorcacom, Hoteles Artiem Audax and Port Ciutadella, Panadería Can Díaz and tiendas Maribel and Cool by Rei d’Or, óptica Barrau Sa Font, Benestar Menorca, Gimnasio Equilibri and Padelin, Lloc de Menorca, Pili Olives, Rubén Camps… who donated items like stays at a hotel, bonds for spa, “abarcas” (tipical Minorcan leather shoes), zumba classes, massages and many other gifts. The Town Hall of Ciudadela, Balearia, Vacances Menorca, Plaça 18, Autocares Torres and Menorca Borina’t Sport Hospital have also collaborated in this event.
After the threat of bad weather in previous days, the rain didn’t came and the hike could develop in a relaxed atmosphere and a great spirit of solidarity. The Borràs sisters announced that they are already preparing the next edition.
