Cystic Fibrosis was the protagonist on Sunday in Palma. 622 people participated in the race “XIV Kilometers of solidarity against Cystic Fibrosis”.
High citizen participation
The race “XIV Kilometers against Cystic Fibrosis, organized by the Respiralia Group, has gathered 622 people in solidarity, including 170 people mobilized by the family of Joanet, a 6 year old boy with Cystic Fibrosis who became known through the networks in 2022 for his claim for the drug “Kaftrio” for children aged 6 to 12 years.
Teams nominated for the Most Numerous Team Award
Other numerous groups such as the Neighborhood Association of Son Dameto, with 43 participants; RODIS, with 41 participants; Respiralia Lovers, with 39 participants; CampiONA, with 25 participants; or Logitravel, with 20 participants, have joined this call against Cystic Fibrosis.
Great runners who do not miss this event
As every year, we had the presence of athletes of the stature of Daniel Mayans, who ran 40 km, Pedro Murillo, with 35 km in his legs or Hayley Diaz, with 30 km run.
The authorities did not want to miss this event
Authorities from the Balearic Government, such as Manuel García, Minister of Health; from the Consell de Mallorca, such as Guillermo Sánchez, President of IMAS; Javier De Juan, PSOE Deputy and Sofia Alonso, PSOE Deputy; and from the Palma City Council, such as Lourdes Roca, Councilor of Social Affairs; Guadalupe Ferrer, Councilor of Health; Carmen Esparza, General Director of Health; and David Salom, General Director of Sports of the Palma City Council, were present at the start of the race.
Children race
At 11:30 in the morning, the children’s race took center stage. With 3 different races, depending on the age, boys and girls from 0 to 10 years old ran to show solidarity with children with Cystic Fibrosis.
Our volunteer team
The Respiralia Group is fortunate to have a volunteer team of more than 60 people to organize sporting and social events. Without these people who dedicate their time and effort to collaborate with our cause, it would be impossible to organize them.
