The Respiralia Group raised awareness of cystic fibrosis yesterday morning, Sunday, with the 1st Respiralia Orienteering Game at Parc de Sa Riera, which drew 102 participants, on the occassion of the 20th anniversary of the Respiralia Foundation.

Raising Awareness About Cystic Fibrosis
During the game, participants were asked to read the information about the disease posted at each of the 12 checkpoints and take a short quiz.
Through this event, the Respiralia Group raised awareness of cystic fibrosis, in line with its policy of organizing non-competitive events that promote solidarity with children and young people living with this disease. This event is part of the observance of National Cystic Fibrosis Day, which will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 22.
Support from institutions
Marina Fiscaleti and David Salom, Director General of Social Welfare for the Balearic Islands Government and Director General of Sports for the City of Palma, respectively, attended the event to show their support for the cystic fibrosis community.
The Consell de Mallorca helped set up popular and traditional games for families.
Orienteering, a sport well-suited for people with cystic fibrosis
Orienteering is an ideal sport for people with cystic fibrosis because it involves physical activity, the ability to read a map, and takes place in open spaces; as a result, participants with this condition can engage in the sport in a safe environment that effectively prevents cross-infection.
Thanks to the collaboration of the Balearic Orienteering Federation, the Respiralia Group will encourage families to participate in the various events on the league calendar as part of the Respiralia Sport Team program.
