The Son Servera Town Council, on the occasion of the tribute to the victims of the plague epidemic of 1820-1821 and the celebration of Saint Ignatius Day, awards the Metge Lliteres Prize to the Respiralia Group in recognition of its health, social, and educational work. The award is worth €1,600 which will go towards the project ‘Education equals Health in Cystic Fibrosis’.
Award for work in healthcare, social services, and education
The Son Servera Town Council, in recognition of the health and social work carried out by the illustrious Dr. Joan Lliteras, favorite son of the town and doctor during the bubonic plague, has awarded this prize to the Respiralia Group.
Relationship between the Respiralia Group and Son Servera
Since early 2024, the Respiralia Group has been providing training to students at IES Puig de sa Font with the “You decide” workshop, in which they are put in the shoes of a person with chronic lung disease due to smoking, a person who is overweight due to poor diet, a person who is blind due to excessive sugar consumption (diabetes), and a person with physical limitations after an accident caused by drunk driving.
Since then, we have reached 420 students in Son Servera.
Anniversary of the Respiralia Foundation
On February 6, 2026, the Respiralia Foundation will celebrate its 20th anniversary. In this regard, it is a source of pride and honor to receive this award, which is the result of the work supported by a great team of volunteers.
