September 29, 2019. Solidarity Kilometers
A new edition of Solidarity kilometers will take place on the last Sunday of September. The location will change a bit and, instead of doing it in front of the Cathedral, the tour will begin in the port of Portixol with a 2.5 km point at the Hotel Villa del Mar for the 5 km circular circuit, and a 5.0 km point for the 10 km circular circuit at Es Carnatge Beach. Reserve the date in your calendar, start training and make your team.

September 28, 2019. 9th edition of the Walk around Ciutadella
Once again the Borràs sisters put themselves in charge of the organization of this Walk that will leave from Plaça des Pins at 10:30 am. 6 km will be traveled through the streets of Ciutadella to end with a raffle for prizes starting at 12:30 pm at the Plaça des Pins. Menorca families, please, make people aware of the event and help in everything you can to the organization, as you did in previous years.
November 29 and 30 and December 1, 2019. 6th edition of the Ultra Trail Ibiza
The Ultra Trail is organized by the Trideporte Club and each year donates the benefits to an association. On this occasion they will go to the Cystic Fibrosis Association of the Balearics. Do not forget to disseminate and help the organization as much as you can.
June 26 to 28, 2020. “XXI Swimming Tour around Formentera against Cystic Fibrosis”
The next edition of the Swimming Tour around Formentera against Cystic Fibrosis will be on June 26, 27 and 28. You can now book the dates and start looking for sponsorships.

Recognition of managment and social commitment
Our commitment to continuous improvement comes from far away, but this year we have made an important effort to improve our management and organization system, thanks to a help from the Cystic Fibrosis Spanish Federation. This effort has been successful, so we have achieved our first external recognition in terms of quality: “Recognition of management and social commitment” Level 1 Star, certified by Bureau Veritas, for the Balearic Association of Cystic Fibrosis. Thank you all for making this possible. Now it’s time to continue working on this quality commitment and certify the Foundation next year.
XX Swimming Tour around Formentera. Great success of the 20th edition
The 20th anniversary of the Vuelta a Formentera swimming will be remembered, no doubt, for several reasons:
- The gift is to have been able to swim in Cabo de La Mola after 7 years without being able to do so due to sea conditions.
- The hardness of the first day with the encounter with a jellyfish bank.
- The choreography of Sunday, which demonstrates the involvement in the fight against Cystic Fibrosis of participants and volunteers.

Some activities at CEIP S’Algar and Aula Balear
At the end of June, the students of the S’Algar and Aula Balear schools received training talks about the respiratory system and its relationship with the circulatory system, about Cystic Fibrosis, about healthy habits and how to live with people who have some type of limitation The little ones learned about Cystic Fibrosis through the tale “Respiralio and the Big Blue Bear”. All of them also learned how to cough and wash their hands correctly to prevent the transmission of infectious diseases.
Grant from the Insular Council of Menorca
The Consell Insular de Menorca approved a grant of € 2,290.00 for the Comprehensive Care Program for children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis (2018 expenses) of the CF Association of the Balearics.
Solidarity birthday of Antonia Escobar and Neus Ballester
Antonia Escobar and Neus Ballester launched two fundraising campaigns on Facebook for their birthday, raising € 112.00 and € 203.00 respectively for the “Educate equals Health in Cystic Fibrosis” program of the Respiralia Foundation. Thanks to initiatives like this we can offer the best services to children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis.
Solidarity companies: Mark the X
The “Solidarity companies, eXtraordinary companies” campaign has been initiated by the Social Action NGO Platform together with the Third Sector Platform (PTS) aimed at informing and sensitizing companies to mark the dedicated “solidarity company” box for social purposes when paying for the Corporation Tax. This new measure will allow companies, starting this year, to contribute to a more just, equal and inclusive society by marking box 00073 (model 200) or 069 (model 220) of their Corporation Tax.
