The Respiralia Group finishes another edition of the Swimming Tour of Formentera. The fight against Cystic Fibrosis celebrates 25 years with unforgettable memories in Formentera.
25th Anniversary of the Swimming Tour of Formentera against Cystic Fibrosis
Another 25th edition of the most important event of Cystic Fibrosis divulgation of the Respiralia Group.
230 people joined together to raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis and to raise funds in an edition marked by solidarity.
People from many countries
The coexistence during 3 days is the key of this event. People from the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Scotland and many communities in Spain enjoyed the waters of Formentera and were able to meet people with Cystic Fibrosis.
In this edition, 89 people participated for the first time.
Jellyfish, as almost every year
Swimming in the sea means invading the habitat of marine fauna. Among these animals are the jellyfish, which this year were less friendly than in other years, leaving not very pleasant memories to some of the people who have participated.
Somewhat difficult sea conditions
The safety of the participants is our top priority. On this occasion, the sea conditions, after several days with an intense wind, did not allow us to swim as much as we would have liked. Even so, we were able to swim 18 kilometers, mainly along the east side of the island.
Teresa Llull, the soul matter of the Respiralia Group
Teresa Llull is a reference for the collective of people with Cystic Fibrosis. After 35 years making achievements for the collective and at almost 87 years old, she continues to get up early and go to bed late to help in the organization of this event.
At the dinner on Saturday she was able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of this event with family members, volunteers and participants. Her strength and charisma is contagious and encourages us to continue fighting against this disease.
The efforts of the volunteer team
The organization of such a complicated event would be impossible without the involvement and effort of the volunteer team.
The ground team
It ensures that everything is ready when the participants arrive on Thursday and that nothing is missing on the boat during the swimming days. It is made up of drivers, logistics personnel and kitchen staff.
The sea team
It is made up of the medical team, the boat logistics team, the DJ, the swimmer control team, the boat crews and the coordination team.
The communication team
Our friends from Películas Suecas and our colleague Josep, supported by Mar Muñoz from Linde Médica, did a great job to get this event in many media.
The whole team did an impressive job during the day, with few hours of rest at night, but, above all, with a dedication that is not easy to express in words.
Quality management
As always, although the event was a success, we know that we have to keep improving. Therefore, we take note of the contributions that 109 participants have made in the survey, in addition to those of the organization team itself. We will try to correct some mistakes and enhance what went well.
Therefore, we can only apologize for the mistakes made and reaffirm our commitment to do better in the next edition.

This event could not be organized without the necessary participation of companies and public administrations that help us every year. Thus, we have:
