Six proposals of high-calorie menus for children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis were presented by some students of the School of Hotel of the Balearic Islands. The Principal, Mr. Jose Luis Mateo, introduced the event. On Tuesday April 17, the presentation of the work done by high-cuisine students of the School of Hotel of the Balearic Islands was held at the wonderful facilities of the School. Under the direction of Professor Mr. Xisco Jorda and with the advice of nutritionists Mrs. Sunilda Muntaner (School of Hotel) and Mrs. Maite Colomar (Son Espases Hospital), the students Joan Castor, Ivan Hernandez and Africa Guerrero made a practical demonstration of how to make 6 high-calorie dishes chosen for children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis. This way, mothers of children or those who have become independent have some alternatives to traditional menus.
On behalf of the Respiralia Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Balearic Association we can only thank to Mr. Mateo his will to allow the School of Hotel collaborates in this beautiful action, and to their teachers and students their generosity, dedication and solidarity.
Here you have a little cookbook with the detailed explanation of each of the dishes:
2. Cornstarch Alfajores
3. Salmon stuffed with rice and vegetables with humus
4. Potato stuffed with minced meat with Gorgonzola cream
5. Risotto with sobrasada and beef tenderloin
6. Oreo cake
