Yesterday afternoon, Boutique Gym hosted the presentation event of the XVII Swimming Tour around Formentera against Cystic Fibrosis. It was a simple and moving ceremony, sponsored by Linde Healthcare and with the attendance of an exceptional godfather: Hugo González Del Oliveira.
This young man just turned 17 years is junior world champion 200-meter backstroke and will represent Spain at the Olympics in Rio 2016. Hugo is a simple person, with his feet on the ground that strives every day to overcome. He had the opportunity to meet Alberto and Dani, two youngsters with Cystic Fibrosis who told him firsthand what it means for them to have the disease and how to lead their daily lives. In his speech, Hugo left us this thought: “sure when in the water, from now I will think of them and their efforts to keep improving.” Hopefully that it will serve as motivation when in the Olympics so he can get better marks. The President of Federación Madrileña de Natación, Juanjo Dueñas, accompanied us to know our event and to support who is one of the most promising swimmers in our country.
Meanwhile, our host Martín Giacchetta and our guest Alberto De la Montaña, told us the “Respiralia” experience lived in 2015. Both stressed the atmosphere of fellowship and solidarity that breathes there.
Dani Nicolau, meanwhile, told us how important it has been and remains the sport to fight the disease.
Finally, Ana Jordan, representative of Linde Healthcare, said that they have been collaborating with our group since 2004, when for nothing they changed the nebulizer for one that cost much more, although it has been over the last two years they have strengthened their collaboration with the sponsorship of the Swimming Tour around Formentera against Cystic Fibrosis.
