In this video, entitled “Respiralia 2021 The sea on the skin”, Películas Suecas offers us the story of the tattoos that decorate the skin of the people who participate at the Swimming Tour around Formentera against Cystic Fibrosis.
Respiralia 2021, a very special edition
The organization of this edition has probably been the most complicated of the 21 in the historical series. Therefore, all the people involved, i.e., volunteers and participants, will have it engraved in our minds forever as someone who has a tattoo on his skin. One of the videos that, one more year, Películas Suecas has produced for Respiralia will also help us to remember it.
The sea on the skin
With the title “The sea on the skin”, it reflects the feeling that the sea awakens in the people who participate in our event and the meaning that they take on when it is related to this.
Messages such as “A [mar]”, a silhouette of a swimmer, a whale, a seahorse, a jellyfish, dolphins, “Thalassophy”, waves, the names of his children beside him as she swims, the symbol of balance, Poseidon, and the best of all, because of what it means for our cause, “You breathe without thinking. I only think about breathing” as symbols of her union with the sea.
Great work in an altruistic way
Eduard Pamín, Carlos Molina and Andrés Molina prove every year that professionalism is not incompatible with solidarity. Their company, Películas Suecas, collaborates with major brands for their national marketing campaigns and with major television networks for the production of programs.
The Respiralia family is fortunate to have among its members these three wonderful people who give EVERYTHING in exchange for NOTHING, so that people with Cystic Fibrosis can continue to breathe. Our most heartfelt thanks.
What is Cystic Fibrosis?
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic, serious and degenerative disease that to date has no cure.
It mainly affects the respiratory, digestive, reproductive and sweat glands.
The treatment for Cystic Fibrosis includes antibiotherapy, a healthy and hypercaloric nutrition and respiratory physiotherapy combined with endurance exercises.
You can see the infographic published by the Cystic Fibrosis Spanish Federation in this link (Spanish version) or see how Dani tells us what this disease is for him in this vídeo (Spanish version).
Currently, more than 2000 mutations are known in the gene that is defective in people with Cystic Fibrosis, although only about 150 mutations are described as causing the disease.
Statistics show that 1 in 5,000 people in Spain has Cystic Fibrosis (1 in 6,400 in the Balearic Islands) and 1 in 35 people is a carrier of a gene that causes the disease (1 in 40 in the Balearic Islands).
In the Balearic Islands there are 76 known diagnosed cases, but statistics speak of between 85 and 90 possible cases.
The awareness project of the Respiralia Foundation aims to raise awareness of this disease in order to discover those cases of people who have Cystic Fibrosis but have not yet been diagnosed.
