The 13th edition of the Solidarity Kilometers against Cystic Fibrosis brings together nearly 600 people. Solidarity dresses in orange against CF in Palma.
Record participation in our charity run
This edition of the Solidarity Kilometers against Cystic Fibrosis has managed to gather 582 people in solidarity. It did not matter that there was a rain forecast, as it happened, because the desire to collaborate in our cause was more important.
The political class was no stranger to this movement either. The Mayor of Palma, José Hila; the Minister of Health of the Balearic Government, Patricia Gómez; the Minister of Presidency of the Consell de Mallorca, Javier De Juan; the President of IMAS, Sofía Alonso; the Councilor of Tourism, Health and Consumption of the City Council of Palma, Elena Navarro; the Deputy of Vox in the Parliament of the Balearic Islands, Jorge Campos; and the PP Councilor in the City Council of Palma, Julio Martínez were present at the start of this event.
Joanet, a “villain” with a lot of pull
Joanet is a 5-year-old boy with Cystic Fibrosis who has managed to gather 167 people in his team “Joan, my favorite villain”.
Since their first participation, their team has won the prize for the largest team. This year, this award was sponsored by Natur Poke.
Award to Pedro Murillo for his fidelity to the event
Pedro Murillo is a long-distance runner, but, above all, a very solidary person. In the last 8 editions of the event, Pedro has run 40 km in each of them to give visibility to Cystic Fibrosis, coming, in addition, accompanied by his family.
The Respiralia Group wanted to recognize this commitment to our cause with an award for their loyalty. The Ola del Mar Restaurant has sponsored this award with a lunch/dinner for two people.
The efforts of a great team of volunteers
In order to organize this event it is necessary to have people involved. The Respiralia Group can boast of having a volunteer team of 58 people, including 5 people with Cystic Fibrosis, who have worked hard to make the event go so well.
We can only say publicly that the Respiralia Group is lucky to have such wonderful and supportive people.
Thanks to the companies that have made the event possible
An event like this needs companies to provide financial or in-kind support to cover all the needs of the people who participate.
This year we have counted with the sponsorship of Linde, Vertex, Lantimar y Logitravel, big companies that have wanted to be by our side.
On the other hand, companies such as Nutrisport, Rent Point, DJ Ricardo Gutiérrez, Emergentes24, Eroski, Restaurant Es Cruce, Administración de Loterías nº 1 de Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Nura Hotels, Charly Photographer y e-Mallorca Technologies provided in-kind or financial support.
Finally, we would like to thank Autoritat Portuària, Ajuntament de Palma, IME, Emaya and the Federación de Atletismo de Baleares their collaboration in the form of authorizations to organize the event.
