The students of 1º of ESO of the Luis Vives School participated in the first formation day of the project Vida Activa Sin Dolor, organized by the Aliviam Clinic and the Respiralia Foundation
Different activities were organized at the courtyard of the School to make the students aware of the importance of a good diet, not smoking or taking drugs and playing sports.
Tests consisted of performing a physical activity with some limitation similar to what they might have in case of obesity, a low lung capacity for tobacco, drugs or genetic lung disease such as Cystic Fibrosis, and a physical disability. Thus, students were able to play basketball, jump rope or climb stairs either carrying 1 kg weights at the ankles or wearing a mask and cinch in the chest as children who have Cystic Fibrosis when carrying out their re-education exercises to the effort. They could also run with the resistance of a theraband tape or ride a circuit with certain obstacles in a wheelchair. Once they finished the exercise they did it without the limitation so that they could see how good they are when they do not have certain limitations.
Finally, the event ended with an interactive theoretical talk with the students.
We would like to thank the Luis Vives School for its willingness to participate in this project.
