On Thursday April 14, a new edition of high-calorie menus workshop for children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis took place with the creations of students of the course of Haute Cuisine of the Hotel School of the Balearic Islands (EHIB).
Under the slogan of “all calories count in Cystic Fibrosis”, students of the EHIB created up to 9 new attractive high-calorie recipes (5 savory and 4 sweet), while respecting some digestive limitations that some of the children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis can present.
The assistant director of the EHIB, Carmen Aguilo said it was a pleasure to work with our group and said they were proud to see how the students of Haute Cuisine course offered themselves as volunteers to prepare and present these menus, after studying in their last academic year the characteristics and needs of the diet of people who have this disease.
Suni Muntaner and Xisco Jorda, two excellent teachers at the EHIB who have been collaborating in this project many years ago, have much of the responsability of these students can join the labor market with important knowledge of nutrition in CF.
