In recent weeks, demand for the welfare, guidance and monitoring program of the Respiralia Foundation and the Balearic Association of Cystic Fibrosis has increased.
Through this program we have carried out various actions before COVID, such as solving doubts about the adaptation of jobs for the coronavirus, issues related to adoption in families with Cystic Fibrosis and covering the basic needs of families in vulnerable situations.
The new situation generated by the pandemic has implied an increase in hours of dedication by the Foundation and Association staff to this program.
The issue of adoption of babies by people with Cystic Fibrosis is a delicate one. A misinterpretation of the information provided by specialist doctors can cause the adoption committee to make a decision against the family’s interests. Therefore, it is very important that families who decide to start this long process are advised by the staff of our entities and even by specialist lawyers.
This program has the support of the Barceló Foundation, of the 0.7% personal income tax program of the Conselleria d’Afers Socials i Esports, of the General Direction of Attention to the Dependence of the Balearic Government, of the Consell Insular de Menorca, from the IMAS (Consell de Mallorca) and the Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Hall.
