Rose of the Sea Award 2022 to Dr. Amparo Solé

The board of trustees of the Respiralia Foundation has awarded the Rosa del Mar 2022 Award to Dr. Amparo Solé Jover for her long career in the fight against CF.

A well-deserved award

Dr. Amparo Solé can be considered one of the doctors who has dedicated more hours of training and work to Cystic Fibrosis, with more than 30 years of experience with this disease.

Her desire to help more and better has led her to do research (she has published more than 150 scientific articles), to gather information from experts in the field (she is the editor of 6 books and has written more than 20 book chapters), to train in the lung transplant units of Saint Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney (Australia), Toronto General Hospital in Ontario (Canada) and the Royal Brompton Hospital in London (England)…

In addition, she is a professor at the Miguel Hernández University of Alicante and collaborates and altruistically leads national and international scientific societies in the fields of transplantation, Cystic Fibrosis and infections.

As a person, Dr. Solé has a great spirit of sacrifice and generosity, she is passionate about her profession and is convinced that she can always learn more and that she must continue training to help people with Cystic Fibrosis and her fellow doctors. He brings medicine to the forefront and we know that one of his greatest concerns is to leave his mark on the world. What is clear to us is that he is leaving his mark on the Cystic Fibrosis collective.

Mateu, from the Balearic Islands, and Belén, from Valencia, both patients of Dr. Solé, presented the award together with Teresa Llull, president of the Respiralia Foundation, and Ana Mª Amate, president of the Cystic Fibrosis Balearic Association.

A heartfelt thank you

Dr. Solé emphasized how excited she was to receive this award from a patients’ association, which gives meaning to the personal and family effort she has made over the years.

Large attendance at the Fiesta

A hundred people attended the Rose of the Sea Festival to support the decision of the Board of Trustees of the Respiralia Foundation to grant the Award to Dr. Amparo Solé.
