715 people formed the tide of solidarity at the Solidarity Kilometers against CF held last Sunday September 29 in Palma.
Large participation in this 15th edition
This year the number of participants has once again exceeded the number of participants by 15%. If last year we already broke a record with 622 people, this year we have reached 715. Teams like “Joan, my favorite villain”, with more than 170 people; “Ona Campiona”, with 77; “Respiralia Lovers“, with 57, among others have made it possible for this event to consolidate and grow every year.
With this great participation and the support of our sponsors and collaborators we have managed to raise funds to be able to offer almost 550 treatment sessions to children and young people with Cystic Fibrosis.
Many authorities were also present
In this edition we had the presence of the Councilor of Health, Manuela García; the Councilor of Housing, Territory and Mobility, José Luis Mateo; the PP Deputy in Parliament, Sebastià Sagreras; the Insular Director of People with Disabilities, Mª Francisca Rigo; the Deputy Mayor of Social Services, Education, Citizen Participation and Youth, Mª Lourdes Roca; the General Director of the IME, Miguel Ángel Bennásar; and the PSIB-PSOE Councilor in the Consell de Mallorca, Javier De Juan.
Commitment of people with Cystic Fibrosis
This event is not only for people who want to show solidarity with the collective of people with Cystic Fibrosis, but also for people who have this disease to demonstrate their capacity for effort by participating in the race.
Thus, Llorenç, Yolanda, Irene, María, Dani, Claudia, Erika, Sara, Joanet, Leia and Ona are examples of overcoming.
Recognition of the volunteer team
It is no coincidence that this event grows every year. The volunteer team does a spectacular job to take care of all the details so that everything goes as smoothly as possible.
People with Cystic Fibrosis, family and friends help us to prepare the material, put the fences on the course the day before (this year with a heavy rain), set up the circuit and ground zero early in the morning and dismantle everything to leave the promenade as it was given to us.
The Respiralia Group has no words to thank the commitment of this team of people working for our cause.
Growing in sponsorships
A very important part is the financing of this event. Our sponsors and collaborators are a fundamental piece so that the money raised is converted into treatment sessions for girls, boys and young people with Cystic Fibrosis.
This year Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Lantimar, Logitravel and Linde Médica have repeated. Grupo Autovidal, Inmobiliaria Talaiot y Nura Hotels have joined as sponsors.
As collaborators, we have maintained Administración de Loterías nº 1 de Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, Restaurant Es Cruce, Emergentes24, El Corte Inglés, Rent Point Alquiler, Eroski, Destination Wedding Photography Studio and Ricardo D León DJ.

Nor is there any lack of collaboration from institutions
In order to organize this event, it is necessary to have the authorization of the different institutions involved. In this way, we have had the collaboration of Autoritat Portuària, Ajuntament de Palma, IME, Emaya and Federación Balear de Atletismo.
