The annual Respiralia Group race has grown to 894 participants, 25% more than last year, consolidating its place in Mallorca’s charity race calendar.

The race

The official start was given at 10:00 a.m. in the presence of the Regional Minister of Health, Manuela García, the Regional Minister of Housing, Territory, and Mobility, José Luis Mateo, the President of IMAS, Guillermo Sánchez, Deputy Sebastià Sagreras, and representatives of our sponsors Vértex Pharmaceuticals, Linde Médica, Lantimar, Logitravel, Grupo Piñero, Nura Hotels, Talaiot Inmobiliaria, and Bongrup.

Children with CF who are able to move around

One of the reasons for the increase in the number of participants is the ability to mobilize the families of children with Cystic Fibrosis.

Three diplomas were awarded in this edition:

  • Largest team: Joan, my favorite villain, with over 150 participants
  • Team that has grown the most in this edition: Ona CampiOna, with more than 120 participants
  • Largest new team: La Tribu de Lucía, with more than 60 participants

Eleven people with cystic fibrosis participated in this edition, accompanied by family members and others who wanted to join this charitable cause.

An unbeatable atmosphere

Cata Iglesias, line dancing teacher at the Dreams Adhupe academy, accompanied by DJ Ricardo D León, livened up the atmosphere with a line dancing class, making the time between the end of the main race and the children’s races very enjoyable.

Two-way solidarity

As in recent years, the Respiralia Group has collaborated with the Mallorcan Association for Aid to Ukrainian Refugees by offering them a point of sale to raise funds for their shelter in Lloseta.

The destination of the funds

With this year’s fundraising, 669 sessions of reception, orientation, and follow-up, respiratory physiotherapy, and exercise rehabilitation will be offered to a total of 47 people with cystic fibrosis at the new facilities inaugurated on Saturday, September 20.
