On Friday, December 17, Irene Nevado gave a conference on her experience in lung transplantation entitled “Getting to the transplant”.
Irene Nevado is currently 31 years old and has cystic fibrosis. In 2008, faced a lung transplant which suposed a radical change in her life. Its strength has made her to overcome such an important operation and improve their quality of life so remarkable.
This conference was focused directly at young people and adults with cystic fibrosis, without parents, so they could express their doubts and fears with no more pressure than the one the situation provokes. In this context, the participants were 17 persons among youth with cystic fibrosis and their partners, as well as Irene and her partner Guillermo, who also gave a very interesting point of view of how people live the transplantation from such close position.
This experience has been judged very satisfactorily by the attendees.
