Agora Portals International School awarded with the 2018 Rose of the Sea Prize for its contribution to the fight against Cystic Fibrosis.
The event, held on Saturday, November 24, began with the reading of the claims of the group of people with Cystic Fibrosis (European Cystic Fibrosis Association and Spanish Federation of Cystic Fibrosis) on the occasion of the European Cystic Fibrosis Week. Thus, the importance of knowledge of the disease being disseminated to the whole society and that the Ministry of Health and the Vertex Pharmaceuticals laboratory should reach an economic agreement so that doctors can have the medicine Orkambi at their disposal was high-lighted.
As the Principal of the educational center, Rafael Barea, commented, the education of children should not only be curricular, but also in values that serve to improve society. The Agora Portals International School works in this line and, to give an example, collaborates with many non-profit entities in various ways.
The Respiralia Foundation is fortunate to be one of these beneficiary entities of its solidarity actions, either with the collection of its own events, with the cession of its magnificent facilities for social and sporting events or with its collaboration in the dissemination of the disease in their classrooms.
The Capitana Room at Son Muntaner Golf was the venue chosen to deliver the 2018 Rose of the Sea Award to Agora Portals International School.
The hundred people attending could taste the menu offered by Chef Carlos Sánchez of the Son Muntaner Golf Restaurant, of the ambient music of our DJ Alba Serrano and the performance of the Uruguayan singer Adriana Santana. We want to thank Alcampo, Cerdà Obrador, Can Ferrerico, Campofrío, Cerveza Rosa Blanca, Mercavinos, Grupo Danone and Caprichos de Jamón and the Mestro Sergio Malaguita for providing products to the catering.
To conclude, prizes from Rosa Gutiérrez Estilista, Yolanda Bauzá Estilista, Óptica Can Picafort, Papabubble Mallorca, Helen Bonetti Osteópata, Mari Carmen Compañón, Palma Aquarium and Grupotel Hotels & Resorts were raffled, and prizes from the following companies were auctioned: Hotel Santos Nixe Palace, GPRO Valparíso Palace & SPA, Harley Davidson Mallorca, Aviación en las aulas – Aeródromo de Binissalem and Restaurante Izakaya.
