The XIII Swimming Tour around Formentera against Cystic Fibrosis, held on July 6, 7 and 8, had a positive result, although it was marked by a considerably less participation than in previous years and by the failure of some of the monitoring boats and of the Captain Jack, our mother ship.
Without being superstitious, edition number 13 has been complicated by many factors, although the final result was positive. First of all it should be noted that the crisis has significantly affected the organization of this year, mainly due to the lack of subventions that led to an increase in price of the inscription fee, and therefore a decrease of the number of swimmers. Second, because the dates chosen did not facilitate that yacht clubs and particulars ceded the inflatable boats as they did normally. To this situation we had to add the damaged suffered on the first day in the biggest boat and the only jet ski we had.
This meant that Javier and his team had to adapt to the circumstances and decide on a shorter stage model, in the end, to the liking of most swimmers.
Without almost jellyfishes and without medical complications, we can say that the sport part of the event was successful.
On the other hand we were lucky to have Jaime Anglada, author of the song “Dalo Todo” in 2011, swimming with us on Sunday, and listen to his songs during the dinner on Saturday. Its coexistence with participants allowed him to collect their feelings to begin to work on the new song. We are pleased to have the collaboration of an artist like Jaime Anglada.
Finally, I highlight the two parties we organize on Friday and Saturday nights. The first one with a tasting of “Frito Mallorquín”, donated by Ca Na Paulina, and music by DJ Gus. The second with the paella cooked by Peter and Ana and with a concert by Jaime Anglada. In both we could enjoy the mojitos made with care by our team of volunteers. A real discovery for future editions.
Thinking in the edition number 14, we are working to sign an collaboration agreement with a shipping company by which participants will just pay about €4.00 for the journey IBZ-FOR.

We hope to see all of you next year.
