The Respiralia Foundation organizes a cleanup of the beach of Cala Bassa in Ibiza following its commitment to the SDG13 of environmental protection.

A collaborative action
To organize this activity, the Respiralia Foundation has had a team of volunteers and the collaboration of the City Council of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia, who left us various tools to facilitate the collection and measurement of what was collected.
This municipality is very active in the protection of the environment, promoting its sustainability through awareness campaigns and specific personnel for this task.
Libera Project
In this activity, the methodology of the Libera project – Together against Basuraleza, created by SEO/BirdLife in collaboration with Ecoembes.
In this way, we measured the “litter” found (cigarette butts, plastics, paper, etc.) in an area of 100 meters long x 6 meters wide in order to upload the results to the Libera project platform.
A sweep along the beach
In addition to quantifying the “litter” on the 100 x 6 m surface, we did a 1.5 hour sweep of the entire beach to remove over 1000 cigarette butts, 695 grams of microplastics, 110 grams of small papers and 990 grams of debris from the sand.
