The Respiralia Group participates in the ERS Congress 2023 held in Milan as a member of the Patient Advisory Council (PAC) of the European Lung Foundation.
International Congress of the European Respiratory Society
Last September, the International Congress of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) took place in Milan from 9-13 September. In addition, members of the Patient Advisory Council of the European Lung Foundation met for a networking day to discuss the needs of the community.

The Respiralia Group, in its aim to be an international reference, has been a member of this Council for more than a year. Carlos Pons attended the Congress and was able to share experiences with different groups and associations from Spain and other countries around the world.
Networking Day
The Respiralia Group’s participation consisted of a poster on CF research, which gave visibility to the research that is being promoted in Spain on phage therapy.
In addition, Carlos Pons moderated a panel discussion on the involvement of patient organisations in research projects.
Speakers of recognised international prestige
The Congress, in addition to bringing together leaders in all respiratory diseases, brought together leaders in the field of Cystic Fibrosis with the following objectives:
- To provide an overview of the clinical and research landscape in the era of CFTR modulators.
- Discuss and consider the unmet needs of people with CF for whom modulatory therapies are not currently available.
- Highlight new therapeutic approaches in development that could shape the future of clinical care and outline research priorities
