On March 8, the International Working Women’s Day is commemorated, which is why we defend the figure of women as a differentiating value of the Respiralia Group.
Referents in Cystic Fibrosis
At the Respiralia Group, women have always played a very important role, both at the professional and managerial level.
While we are pleased every day to have women in our teams, on this special day we would like to mention 8 of them for different reasons:

Teresa Llull, for his long history of helping people with Cystic Fibrosis, occupying the highest responsibilities within the organization of the Respiralia Group for more than 38 years. She is the alma matter for the families related with Cystic Fibrosis in the Balearic Islands

Ketty Ruiz, a reference in the group of physiotherapists, both in the specialty of pelvic floor and respiratory physiotherapy. Disciple of Professor Jean Chevaillier, creator of the autogenous drainage technique, she has trained many physiotherapists to treat Cystic Fibrosis.

Isabel Badillo, psychologist of the Respiralia Group for more than 20 years. Isabel has known how to have the empathy necessary for people with Cystic Fibrosis to open up and tell her their problems. Her professionalism, training and experience make her a fundamental pillar in the Respiralia Group.

Paz Arizti, PhD in biology and mother of a young man with Cystic Fibrosis of 22 years, the same that has been dedicated body and soul to this disease. Her training and experience in research makes her the reference for the families of the Respiralia Group when looking for information about any problem related to the disease.

Pilar Domingo-Calap, virologist specialized in phage therapy. This young researcher is working on a therapy that can save many lives by being a possible solution to the resistance of multidrug-resistant bacteria. Thanks to her drive, she has created the company Evolving Therapeutics with the support of the University of Valencia, the Respiralia Foundation and her sister, also a virologist, María Luisa. She is the scientific director of the company and the principal investigator of the research group I2SysBio Universitat de València-CSIC.

Ana Amate, mother of a 6 year old boy with Cystic Fibrosis. Shortly after becoming a member of the Association, she assumed the position of vice-president and later took over the presidency of the Association. Thanks to her, the Respiralia Group has obtained very important donations to allocate them to research projects such as Evolving Therapeutcis phagotherapy or stem cells from Stem Care Lab.

Yolanda Molina, a reference person for the group of people with Cystic Fibrosis in the Balearic Islands. Both for her experience and her position as secretary of the Board of Directors of the Association, she helps other younger people to solve doubts or to refer them to the corresponding service.

Irene Nevado, a tireless fighter. Neither her Cystic Fibrosis, nor her two lung transplants prevent her from showing sympathy, strength and optimism. A few months after her second transplant, she participated in the 20th anniversary of the Tour of Formentera swimming against Cystic Fibrosis, giving a lesson of overcoming to the whole society.
To these 8 women and to all the women of the Respiralia Group, THANK YOU for giving us the best of yourselves. To all of you, our tribute on this day and every day of the calendar because you are our engine.
